Bruce Gaston was recognized by the Office of Contemporary Art and Culture. Ministry of Culture Received the Silpathorn Emeritus Award in the Music Arts category for 2009 as the only foreigner to receive this award.
His major students include Narongrit Thammabutr, Kaiwan Kulwattanothai, Anan Nakkong, Jiradet Setapanthu, Boonrat Sirirattanaphan, Vanich Potavanich and Damri Bannawittayakit.
